The one time Knicks point guard spoke earlier today about his feelings on his old ball club and he felt the same way many others have since they made the big time trade. Marbury said that in order for Amare to be successful, ” he needs a point guard like Steve Nash (to thrive). He’s a pick-and-roll guy, a pick-and-pop guy. He can’t play in the half court where everything’s slowed down,”. With the Knicks season turned around almost instantly with the signing of Amare as a free agent then trading nearly half the team for Carmelo Anthony the Knicks have made some pretty good pick ups such as Jason Kidd and have even re-aquired Raymond Felt one of the pieces involved in the Melo trade. On paper the Knicks are now definitely more of a title contender but will have to wait to say how the players mesh together with the team able to have its first real training camp since Carmelo Anthony has joined the team.
